Names: first names, place names, etc.
Giving an object a name shows that it is important and naming something also tends to categorise it. Is it a person (male or female), an object, a place? Naming is a part of culture and the conventions for naming varies from place to place.
If you ask people to name a robot, they tend to follow conventions, which they are probably unaware of. Some people assign mechanical names along the lines of automator or myrobot; others give the robot a pet name (Fido) or a first name, e.g, Max -- usually it is a male rather than female first name.
Non-English naming conventions might come up with something like does what it's told or never tires as names.
